What`s Happening at / TMA Labor Day Hours & Sales

Hello Everyone,

Happy September! We hope everyone is doing well and getting back into the swing of school and extra circulars, all of us here at Tactical Martial Arts are definitely  ready for some cooler weather! All is well here at Tactical Martial Art, classes are back to normal in house and we are still offering our virtual class options via Facebook live as well. Our July Taekwondo and Krav Maga testings were of great success and we are currently gearing up for our next Taekwondo testing on September 26th, as always, there are no Taekwondo or Krav Maga classes on testing days! We do currently have open enrollment for our next testing cycle starting September 28th. All Krav Maga and Taekwondo students are on the Fall 2020 schedule as of August 3rd, so please advise to those who have been absent for some time. The current Taekwondo schedule is Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, times vary depending on age and rank. Krav Maga classes are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings as well. Please speak with a staff member for your class time if you are unsure.

This past weekend we hosted our 2020 Black Belt Camp, where we hosted fellow ATA students for a fun weekend of training. This year was different than years to say the least. In years past, camp is typically  limited to Black Belts ages 13 and up,  as well as the fact that we traditionally host camp in Tallulah Falls, GA , where we spend the weekend camping, hiking and participating in various water activities in our down time. This year, we skipped the camping part, cut out the “fun time” and got down to the knitty gritty of training, which was still an absolute blast as participants got to learn new drills, perfect their techniques and evolve their self defense skills to a whole new level. Everyone was awesome in abiding to the CDC guidelines in regards to social distancing and other safety protocols, by them doing so, Black Belt Camp was smooth sailing and for that we thank you!

With classes being cancelled Saturday, August 29th for Black Belt Camp, we will be holding classes THIS Saturday, September 5th. The only day we will be closed for the holiday will be Monday, September 7th. We will reopen for business Tuesday, September 8th with regular business hours. If you need to reach a staff member during the time that we are closed, please send an email to Droegesata@gmail.com and someone will get back with you as soon as possible.

The Tiny Tiger program was developed specifically for pre school aged children ages 4 through 6. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect and discipline. In addition, the program is designed to improve children`s motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions. All classes are taught using the safest, most fun and exciting instruction methods available for this age group.

Karate For Kids (7-12 years old)

There are many reasons for kids to become involved in the martial arts. We have developed a program based on traditional Taekwondo for kids called ” Karate For Kids”. The Karate for Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. The building blocks for our system are monthly themes such as: Goal Setting, Self Control, Confidence, Respect, Discipline, Integrity and many others!

Martial Arts For Teens/ Adults (13 years old & up)

The classes for teens and adults offered at Tactical Martial Arts are led by an experienced, professional team of inspiring instructors, featuring quality curriculums tested and approved by expect Martial Arts Instructor , 8th Degree Black Belt and 2x World Champion, Chief Master Todd Droege. All material is designed to train individuals through incremental development into skillful Martial Artists. Coursework is influenced by a number of popular competitive disciplines and crafted so that any student with the willingness to try can succeed.

Krav Maga (16 years old & up)

Krav Maga is the officially hand to hand combat system of the Israeli Defense Forces. It is also the preferred systems for the U.S Military and law enforcement personnel. Krav Maga is not a traditional martial arts, no katas, no rituals. Based on simple principles and instinctive movements, this reality-based system is designed to teach real life self defense in the shortest possible time. Learn to defend against common chokes, grabs, bearhugs as well as weapons such as guns, knives and sticks. Just as important we trach people to function during the stress and shock of a sudden and violent encounter.

At Tactical Martial Arts, Krav Maga classes are offered to students of all experience levels and background. Student Krav Maga is a fun and effective way to stay in shape, increase focus and learn how to defend yourself. Chief Master Todd Droege selects and trains our instructors to provide the highest quality of instruction of internationally recognized curriculum available.  Our instructors place emphasis on the importance of correctness to ensure the  learned skill is effective as well as also to prevent injury and develop proper muscle memory.

Tested on the battlefield and in the streets, Krav Maga`s practical approach to self defense will make anyone feel safer and more secure in your day to day life.

Setting and Achieving Goals

We all have dreams in life, and most realize that in order to achieve those dreams, we must set goals, a road map, and a time frame to get them. This reality isn’t just true for grown-ups; it’s true for children as well. The dictionary defines a goal as an “observable and measurable end result with one or more objectives to be achieved within a fixed time frame.” It is a known fact that children with specific goals to achieve fare much better in life than their direction-less counterparts. Setting goals for children allows them to think, plan, and take action in order to earn a positive change or reward. They will understand the importance of patience, hard work, and experience the pure satisfaction of seeing the fruits of their labor. Since children are basically beginners in this area, the focus should lie on the process rather than the result.

Values of goal-setting

Setting goals for your children helps them focus on the task at hand. Since children can be easily distracted, it is necessary to set small goals for them that are achievable. The intention here is to keep them focused. Motivation is also important in goal setting and children will lose interest in their goals if it not relevant to them. Motivation in the form of small rewards can be great when it comes to getting your child to achieve his or her goals, but the focus must be on completing the task and not just the reward. Fixing goals for your children in multiple areas allows them to explore their strengths and interests, and simultaneously trains them to be well rounded individuals.

Setting goals for your children allows them to develop self-confidence. Every time your children achieve a set goal, it gives them the reassuring knowledge and trust that they are capable of doing things. It gives them a sense of control and boosts their self-esteem.

Goal-setting with karate

Allowing your children to participate in goal-oriented activities is an excellent way to teach them the importance and value of the so-called “master skill of success.” Like most martial arts, karate is built on the idea of self-improvement through practice. It is an activity that is centered on the idea of goal-setting, and requires high levels of discipline to learn. There are various stages through which to progress when learning karate (proficiency in certain moves or skill sets, symbolized by advancing rank and belt color). The requirements will teach your child to be patient and focused, a noble and possible goal for young people and adults as well.
